Our Mission
It is the philosophy of the Crossfield Municipal Library that patrons living in the Town of Crossfield and surrounding rural area have equal access to an efficient and effectively operated library, and that our collection meets the cultural, educational, and recreational needs of our patrons.


Goals and Objectives of the Crossfield Public Library
 
1.  VISIT A COMFORTABLE PLACE
Members of the community will have a welcoming place with comfortable areas to meet, read, learn and socialize.
·         In 2016-2017, Crossfield Library will renovate an historic building to provide a new, larger home at 1210 Railway Street.
 
2.  PROMOTE EARLY LITERACY
Children and their caregivers will have programs and materials which stimulate, encourage and extend literacy.
·         More children and their caregivers will attend programs each year.
·         One new children’s program will be introduced each year.
 
3.  CONNECT TO THE ONLINE WORLD
Community members will have access to programs and technology which increase digital connection.
·         Crossfield Library is part of Marigold, our region’s Alberta Library System.
·         We offer public use computers for gaming, CV creation, internet access, homework, job training, and general use.
·         Increased teleconferencing options.
·         A mobile checkout service for off-site locations like the Farmer’s Market and Rockyview Lodge.
·         Electronic tablets and other similar products will be available for loan.
 
 4.  PROVIDE LIFELONG LEARNING
Community members will explore topics of personal interest and continue to learn throughout their lives.
·         Interactive RISE video conferences on a variety of topics will continue to be offered.
·         More topical interest programs will be offered annually.
 
5.  STIMULATE IMAGINATION
Members of the community will have access to a variety of resources to enhance their leisure time.
·         All age groups will come to the library to meet their specific needs for leisure activities and resources.
·         The library will provide a wider variety of materials on various topics of interest to our community.
