Library Policies

DONATIONS - Temporarily suspended until after move to new library location
 

Crossfield Municipal Library is happy to accept the following types of new and used materials:

  • Hard-cover Fiction in excellent condition with dustjackets in tact
  • Paperback Fiction in excellent condition with no creased or broken spines
  • Non-fiction books in excellent condition, published within the last 3 years
  • DVDs and unabridged AudioBooks on CD

 
We CANNOT accept:

  • Materials that are damaged, yellowed, mouldy, have loose or torn covers or are in generally poor condition
  • Magazines, Textbooks or Encyclopedias
  • Cassettes, Music CDs or VHS tapes
  • Readers Digest Condensed books

 
Donations that are not added to our collection may be used to generate funds for the Library through book sales.

Computer Usage
Effective July 1, 2014, any children 14 and younger will only be allowed access to the computers when accompanied by an adult to supervise.



Censorship Policy

Policy on censorship for adult use and children books is the responsibility of the individual or parent/guardian as what to he/she or what their children read.
 
We believe that access to the library services should be equal and universal and is best accomplished through sharing and cooperation.
